Home Organizing Services in Long Island

DDH (Done & Done Home) is a women-owned team of professional home organizers serving Nassau and Suffolk Counties for over 15 years.

From historic North Shore colonials to Hamptons estates, we handle every part of the project: sorting, removing, organizing, and building systems that last.

Professional Home Organizing Services on Long Island

Long Island’s homes are unlike those anywhere else in the region. On the North Shore, historic Colonials and Victorians in Huntington and Northport were built long before modern storage systems existed. They hold decades of accumulated belongings and offer very little built-in storage. On the South Shore, post-Sandy rebuilt homes in Long Beach and Point Lookout tend to have open layouts that feel spacious until clutter accumulates fast.

Gated communities throughout Nassau County, including Muttontown, Brookville, and Old Westbury, come with vendor access rules, quiet hours, and waste removal restrictions that require careful coordination before any project begins. The Hamptons and East End are home to seasonal and second properties with their own organizing demands: seasonal rotations, multi-household storage, and estate-level collections built up over generations. In Great Neck, Roslyn, and Garden City, well-established homes often hold multi-generational belongings that call for patient, experienced handling.

Our team has worked in hundreds of Long Island homes across Nassau and Suffolk Counties. We know the specific logistical realities of your neighborhood before we arrive. Nothing about your home or your community will catch us off guard.

Decluttering & Cleanout Services

We work through every room in your Long Island home methodically, sorting, deciding, and clearing. You are left with a clean, functional space that is genuinely easy to maintain going forward.

Professional Organization

Once the clutter is cleared, we build systems designed around how you actually live. We maximize your existing storage and create configurations that are both intuitive and sustainable long after we leave.

Downsizing & Rightsizing

We handle the careful, thoughtful work of sorting through a lifetime of belongings. From sentimental items to high-value pieces, our team helps you decide what moves with you and what does not, with patience and real expertise.

Home Sale Preparation

We get your Long Island home listing-ready with a staging-focused declutter, smart storage recommendations, and agent coordination. Our team works to your listing timeline and knows what Long Island buyers respond to.

Estate Management & Clear Outs

We manage every detail of the estate clearout process: room-by-room inventory, responsible distribution of items, donation coordination, and comprehensive documentation for families navigating one of life’s most demanding tasks.

Post-Move Organization

Moving into a new Long Island home? We unpack, set up every room, and build organizational systems from day one so your new home starts organized rather than buried in boxes.

We Organize Your Life. You Live It.

About DDH (Done and Done Home)

Meet The Owner

Over 15 years ago, mother-daughter duo Ann Lightfoot and Kate Pawlowski founded DDH (Done and Done Home) after using their natural organizational talents to help a friend with a move. What began as a passion project swiftly grew into a multi-million dollar business, offering expert organization services to those struggling with their cluttered spaces on a daily basis.

Not only have Ann and Kate built a team of professionals that help people all throughout the Tri-State Area organize their homes, they’ve also written a book, Love Your Home Again: Organize Your Space and Uncover the Home of Your Dreams, and created a course, From Chaos to Calm: A Masterclass in Home Organizing, that teach people to love their home again.

I could not be happier with Done & Done and the service Rachel and Alana provided. From start to finish, they were incredible to work with — warm, professional, and genuinely invested in creating a space that felt both beautiful and functional. My apartment looks amazing and is so thoughtfully organized that it truly feels like a weight has been lifted. They went above and beyond in ways that made the experience exceptional. Plus, they are both such lovely people. I am absolutely thrilled with the results and would highly recommend Done & Done in a heartbeat! Thank you Done & Done and thank you Rachel and Alana for such an outstanding experience!

My mother gifted me a session with Done & Done Home for my birthday, and I could not be more grateful for the experience. Rachel and Alana were incredible and did an outstanding job reorganizing the closets in my apartment. They were friendly, efficient, and wonderfully calm as they tackled all five closets. Together, we sorted everything into three clear categories—keep, donate, and sell—before they thoughtfully reorganized each space in a far more functional and intuitive way. Not only does my home look and feel transformed, but I also gained a real sense of mental clarity from the process. I highly recommend Done & Done Home.

I got a rave review from my daughter after working with Done and Done. She was so excited by the change in her closets and the thoroughness and work ethic of both Rachel and Alana. I hope this will be the beginning of a lifelong understanding of what you really gain by letting go.

I’m so happy I chose to get help and went to Done and Done. Within minutes of their arrival, they were already tackling what needed to be done and worked really hard for the entire day. Having that extra help was a game changer. We go rid of about 10 industrial sized trash bags worth of stuff!

I cannot recommend Ann and her team highly enough. Sharon and Rachel came to my apartment to purge, organize and pack to get ready for a move. They were so kind and so unbelievably efficient. All of the stress I felt leading up to the move was for nothing. I would use this service again in a heartbeat!

Why Choose Done & Done Home

Why Long Island Homeowners Choose DDH for Home Organizing Services

Local Experience

15+ Years Working Across Long Island

Our team has worked in hundreds of homes in Nassau and Suffolk counties. We know the layout quirks of historic North Shore colonials, the disposal schedules in communities like Oceanside and Hempstead, and the access requirements in gated neighborhoods such as Stone Hill at Muttontown and along the Gold Coast. That local knowledge removes the guesswork on every project.

High-Value Home Expertise

Trusted Care for Valuable and Sentimental Items

We routinely work with designer collections, fine jewelry, one-of-a-kind antiques, and investment-grade art. Our team handles these items with documented care, and we connect clients with vetted appraisers when pieces need professional valuation before any decisions are made.

A Trusted Professional Network

The Right Partners for Every Home Project

Over 15 years, we have built a trusted professional network on Long Island: appraisers, boutique gallery contacts, cleaners, painters, floor repair specialists, stagers, and real estate agents. If your organizing project connects to a broader home project or a listing, we can coordinate the pieces.

Team Capacity

A Full Team, Not a Solo Organizer

Our team of professional organizers lets us take on projects of any size and meet tight timelines. If you are on a six-week listing deadline, we can accommodate it. A solo organizer typically cannot.

Proven Results

A 5-Star Reputation Across Long Island

We hold a 5-star Google rating across hundreds of reviews from Long Island homeowners, real estate professionals, and estate clients. Our clients consistently praise our team for their professionalism, care, and results.

What to Expect

The DDH Way

No matter the size of the project, we follow the same structured approach on every Long Island home. That consistency is how we have delivered reliable results for 15+ years.

Step 01

Consultation

Every project begins with a detailed phone consultation. We discuss your goals, timeline, and what needs to be done. After the call, we may request photos or a walkthrough to fully assess the scope and prepare before we arrive.

Step 02

Planning

Our team builds a project plan specific to your home, including the materials needed, scheduling, and a realistic timeline. For gated communities throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties, we account for access procedures, quiet hours, and disposal restrictions before project day. There are no surprises.

Step 03

Sorting and Removal

On-site, we work through each space methodically. Items are sorted into four categories: keep, donate, sell, and remove. We coordinate appointments with trusted appraisers for valuable pieces, arrange donations to local Long Island charities, and manage all disposal and recycling. Nothing leaves the home without purpose or documentation.

Step 04

Organization

With the clutter cleared, we organize what remains into a system designed around your actual lifestyle. We work through the flow of each room, maximize existing storage, and set up a configuration you will actually be able to maintain.

Best Practices for Home Organization on Long Island

Start with a thorough consultation

Before any work begins, we conduct a detailed phone consultation to understand your space, goals, and timeline. We ask for photos or videos in advance so we arrive fully prepared, with no surprises on project day.

Plan for local logistics

Every Long Island neighborhood comes with its own logistical realities, from gated community access rules to disposal restrictions in municipalities like Oceanside and Hempstead. We research and plan for every one of them before we show up

Handle high-value items with care and documentation

Long Island homes, especially on the North Shore and East End, frequently contain antiques, art, jewelry, and designer collections. We document every high-value item and connect clients with trusted appraisers before any disposition decisions are made.

Build systems that last

Every project ends with a full systems walkthrough so you understand exactly how the organization setup works and how to maintain it. That handoff is what separates a declutter that lasts from one that does not.

Work With an Experienced Team

A successful home organization project requires more than sorting and putting things away. It requires thoughtful planning, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to make decisions across every room in your home.

Our experienced organizers bring structure, efficiency, and discretion to the process, helping you move through even the most overwhelming spaces with confidence. You can focus on your family, your work, and your daily life while we create a home that feels calmer, more functional, and easier to maintain.
