Home Organizing Services in Manhattan

DDH (Done & Done Home) is a women-owned team of professional home organizers serving Manhattan for over 15 years.

From compact studio apartments to sprawling classic-six co-ops, we handle every part of the project: sorting, removing, organizing, and building systems that last.

Professional Home Organizing Services in Manhattan

Manhattan’s pre-war buildings on the Upper East Side and Upper West Side are among the most architecturally distinctive apartments in the world and among the most organizationally complex. Deep closets behind narrow doorways, galley kitchens with minimal counter space, and rooms that flow without natural storage transitions are all common in buildings designed for a different era of living. White-glove buildings throughout Carnegie Hill, Riverside Drive, and Central Park West add another layer: freight elevator reservations, mandatory service-hour windows, and doorman procedures must all be coordinated before a single item leaves the apartment.

In Tribeca and SoHo, converted lofts offer dramatic ceiling heights and open plans that are visually stunning, but with no walls to contain the clutter, organization is always on display. Throughout Midtown and the Financial District, newer condos were built with aesthetics over storage, leaving residents with beautiful spaces and very few practical places to put their things. In the West Village and Greenwich Village, charming historic walk-ups and townhouses trade storage for character, with irregular layouts and minimal built-ins that require creative solutions.

Our team has worked in hundreds of Manhattan homes across every neighborhood and building type. We understand the logistical requirements, the layout quirks, and the organizational demands of city living before we arrive. Nothing about your apartment or your building will catch us off guard.

Decluttering & Cleanout Services

We work methodically through every room in your Manhattan home, sorting, deciding, and clearing. You are left with a clean, functional space that is easier to use and genuinely easier to maintain.

Professional Organization

Once the clutter is cleared, we build systems designed around how you actually live. We maximize your existing storage, every shelf, cabinet, and closet, and create configurations that are both intuitive and sustainable long after we leave.

Downsizing & Rightsizing

We provide patient, experienced support for Manhattanites sorting through a lifetime of belongings. Whether you are moving to a smaller apartment, helping a parent transition, or navigating a major life change, we help you decide what to move forward and what not to, including sentimental, fragile, and high-value items.

Home Sale Preparation

We prepare your Manhattan home for the market with a staging-focused declutter, smart storage recommendations, and coordination with your real estate agent or broker. Our team works on your timeline and helps create a home that photographs well, shows well, and is ready for prospective buyers.

Estate Management & Clearouts

We manage every detail of the estate clearout process in Manhattan: room-by-room inventory, responsible distribution of items, donation coordination, appraisal connections, and comprehensive documentation for families navigating one of life’s most demanding transitions.

Post-Move Organization

Moving into a new Manhattan apartment? We unpack, set up every room, and build organizational systems from day one so your new home starts organized rather than buried in boxes.

We Organize Your Life. You Live It.

Why Choose Done & Done Home

Why Manhattan Homeowners Choose DDH for Home Organizing Services

Local Experience

15+ Years Working Across Manhattan

Our team has worked in hundreds of Manhattan apartments and homes across every neighborhood. We know the freight elevator protocols in pre-war Upper East Side co-ops, the service-hour restrictions in Midtown high-rises, and the building management requirements throughout the borough. That local knowledge removes the guesswork on every project.

High-Value Home Expertise

Trusted Care for Valuable and Sentimental Items

We routinely work with designer collections, fine jewelry, one-of-a-kind antiques, and investment-grade art. Our team handles these items with documented care, and we connect clients with vetted appraisers when pieces need professional valuation before any decisions are made.

A Trusted Professional Network

The Right Partners for Every Home Project

Over 15 years, we have built a trusted professional network throughout Manhattan: appraisers, gallery contacts, cleaners, painters, floor repair specialists, stagers, and real estate agents. If your organizing project connects to a broader home project or a listing, we can coordinate the pieces.

Team Capacity

A Full Team, Not a Solo Organizer

Our team of professional organizers lets us take on projects of any size and meet tight timelines. If you are on a listing deadline, a co-op board closing schedule, or a building-mandated move-out window, we can accommodate it. A solo organizer typically cannot.

Proven Results

A 5-Star Reputation Across Manhattan

We hold a 5-star Google rating across hundreds of reviews from Manhattan homeowners, real estate professionals, and estate clients. Our clients consistently praise our team for their professionalism, care, and results.

What to Expect

The DDH Way

No matter the size of the project, we follow the same structured approach on every Manhattan home. That consistency is how we have delivered reliable results for 15+ years.

Step 01

Consultation

Every project begins with a detailed phone consultation. We discuss your goals, timeline, and what needs to be done. After the call, we may request photos or a walkthrough to fully assess the scope and prepare before we arrive.

Step 02

Planning

Our team builds a project plan specific to your home, including the materials needed, scheduling, and a realistic timeline. For Manhattan buildings with freight elevator reservations, co-op board requirements, or mandatory service-hour windows, we account for all of it in advance. There are no surprises.

Step 03

Sorting and Removal

On-site, we work through each space methodically. Items are sorted into four categories: keep, donate, sell, and remove. We coordinate appointments with trusted appraisers for valuable pieces, arrange donations to local Manhattan charities, and manage all disposal and recycling. Nothing leaves the home without purpose or documentation.

Step 04

Organization

With the clutter cleared, we organize what remains into a system designed around your actual lifestyle. We work through the flow of each room, maximize existing storage, and set up a configuration you will actually be able to maintain.

Reviews & Reputation

We’re incredibly proud that so many of our Manhattan clients have trusted us with their homes and taken the time to share their experience. Whether it’s a single-room decluttering session, a full home transformation, or a complete estate clearout, our team delivers consistent, high-quality results every time. We’re especially proud of how often clients mention the professionalism and ease of working with our team.

I could not be happier with Done & Done and the service Rachel and Alana provided. From start to finish, they were incredible to work with — warm, professional, and genuinely invested in creating a space that felt both beautiful and functional. My apartment looks amazing and is so thoughtfully organized that it truly feels like a weight has been lifted. They went above and beyond in ways that made the experience exceptional. Plus, they are both such lovely people. I am absolutely thrilled with the results and would highly recommend Done & Done in a heartbeat! Thank you Done & Done and thank you Rachel and Alana for such an outstanding experience!

My mother gifted me a session with Done & Done Home for my birthday, and I could not be more grateful for the experience. Rachel and Alana were incredible and did an outstanding job reorganizing the closets in my apartment. They were friendly, efficient, and wonderfully calm as they tackled all five closets. Together, we sorted everything into three clear categories—keep, donate, and sell—before they thoughtfully reorganized each space in a far more functional and intuitive way. Not only does my home look and feel transformed, but I also gained a real sense of mental clarity from the process. I highly recommend Done & Done Home.

I got a rave review from my daughter after working with Done and Done. She was so excited by the change in her closets and the thoroughness and work ethic of both Rachel and Alana. I hope this will be the beginning of a lifelong understanding of what you really gain by letting go.

I’m so happy I chose to get help and went to Done and Done. Within minutes of their arrival, they were already tackling what needed to be done and worked really hard for the entire day. Having that extra help was a game changer. We go rid of about 10 industrial sized trash bags worth of stuff!

I cannot recommend Ann and her team highly enough. Sharon and Rachel came to my apartment to purge, organize and pack to get ready for a move. They were so kind and so unbelievably efficient. All of the stress I felt leading up to the move was for nothing. I would use this service again in a heartbeat!

What began as a passion project swiftly grew into a multi-million dollar business, offering expert organization services to those struggling with their cluttered spaces on a daily basis.

Not only have Ann and Kate built a team of professionals that help people all throughout the Tri-State Area organize their homes, they’ve also written a book, Love Your Home Again: Organize Your Space and Uncover the Home of Your Dreams, and created a course, From Chaos to Calm: A Masterclass in Home Organizing, that teach people to love their home again.

Best Practices for Home Organization in Manhattan

Start with a thorough consultation

Before any work begins, we conduct a detailed phone consultation to understand your space, goals, and timeline. We ask for photos or videos in advance so we arrive fully prepared, with no surprises on project day.

Plan for Manhattan-specific logistics

Every Manhattan building comes with its own logistical realities, from freight elevator reservations and co-op board restrictions to service-hour windows and doorman procedures. We research and plan for every one of them before we show up.

Handle high-value items with care and documentation

Manhattan homes frequently contain antiques, art, jewelry, and designer collections. We document every high-value item and connect clients with trusted appraisers before any disposition decisions are made.

Build systems that last

Every project ends with a full systems walkthrough so you understand exactly how the organization setup works and how to maintain it. That handoff is what separates an organization project that lasts from one that does not.

Work With an Experienced Team

A successful home organizing project requires more than decluttering. It requires planning, judgment, discretion, and the ability to make thoughtful decisions about everything from everyday belongings to valuable and sentimental items.

Our experienced organizers bring structure and calm to the process, managing the sorting, removal, and organization from start to finish. You can focus on your family, your work, and your daily life while we create systems that make your Manhattan home more functional and easier to maintain.
